Amanda is a Consulting Partner of the firm and a Law Society Accredited Specialist in Business Law, recognised for her expertise in complex commercial structures and high-value financial arrangements.
Amanda works alongside our Family Lawyers on matters involving sophisticated asset pools, where family law intersects with business law, trust structures, and insolvency risk. Her involvement ensures that clients—particularly business owners, executives, and high net worth individuals—receive advice that reflects not only the legal framework, but the commercial reality of how their wealth is structured, controlled, and protected.
Amanda is regularly engaged in matters involving:
- Family discretionary trusts, and unit trust structures,
- Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs),
- Private companies, corporate groups, and layered ownership arrangements
- Shareholdings, Shareholder Loans, and intra-group transactions,
- Beneficiary Loan Accounts and Unpaid Present Entitlements (UPEs) relating to family trusts, and
- Complex asset structuring and inter-entity financial relationships.
She also provides strategic input in matters involving:
- Alleged breaches of directors’ duties and governance issues within private companies,
- Breaches of fiduciary duties in trust structures, including the conduct of trustees and directors of corporate trustees,
- Insolvency and bankruptcy considerations impacting the asset pool, and
- Third-party claims and competing interests that may reduce or reshape property available for division.
Beyond her advisory role, Amanda is instrumental in elevating the firm’s capability in complex property matters. She acts as Head of Business & Company Law for our sister firm, Roberts Crosbie Mortensen Lawyers, and regularly delivers targeted internal training and professional development sessions, equipping our Family Lawyers with the commercial insight and technical depth required to confidently navigate sophisticated financial structures and emerging risks.
Her involvement strengthens the firm’s ability to provide commercially astute, strategically focused advice in matters where the characterisation, control and preservation of wealth are critical.
For clients with complex financial affairs, this integrated approach delivers a clear advantage—ensuring that structures are properly understood, risks are proactively managed, and outcomes are achieved with precision, confidence, and commercial clarity.
